Essie Fiji with Cheeky Happy Nails Jumbo Plate

The summer is finally here and I'm wondering if I should start taking outdoor pictures...

Honestly, I prefer my light box but sometimes the sunlight from my window is highly tempting. Especially when I'm wearing holos... LOL

Anyway, today I wanted something simple so I wore two coats of Essie Fiji, an off white pink creme. I have two coats. The mark you're seeing on my middle finger is because of the patch. I should have buffed it a little more I guess.

I used Cheeky happy nails jumbo plate for the flowery design with Flormar Jellylook pink...

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween to all!!!

Although we don't officially celebrate Halloween in Turkey, there are still some parties here and there. My daughter used to celebrate it in Kindergarten as well... Every year I used to sew her a dress for Halloween... :)

Anyway, since it is a fun holiday and since my Halloween package arrived the other day, I have an excuse to make a Halloween nail art for today!!! :) :)

I used Essence Black is back on my pinkie and then stamped it with BM223 using Essence stamping polish in white...

For my ring and middle fingers, I used two coats of Spoiled Orange You Glad, an awsome polish for Halloween... For the ring finger, I drew a pumpkin using Essence Nail Art Tatoo pen... :) Not so bad, huh? And for the ring finger I stamped the haunted house from BM305.

For the index finger, I used two coats of Australis Limited Edition 2, also a great green for Halloween... :) I stamped the straight lines from Cheeky10 and then made it look like a witch shoe using the tatoo pen again. :)

Andddddd for my thumb, afgter 2 coats of Australis Limited Edition 2, I freehanded Frankenstein!!!! I totally worked hard for that and I am quite pleased with my work, since I suck at freehand drawings!!!!!!!

Essie Naughty Nautical and Zoya Maria Luisa

I have always loved chevron manis. And I have secretly wished I was able to freehand or do tape chevrons... Well, freehand is off the discussion and tape chevrons will be another day's story...

Anyway, one day, my dear friend Michele sent me the Cheeky Happy Nails stamping plate along with some fall Zoya Pixie Dusts... And suddenly, I wanted to make a chevron mani...

:)

:)

Big surprise huh? LOL

Here is the plate that made me realise my dreams...

I can hear you asking, both Pueen and Bundle Monster has chevron designs. Why didn't you use them? I am totally aware of that. But I was admiring the thick, fat chevrons, not the skinny ones... So, you finally get my problem??? :P

Lons story short, today, just before leaving the house, I wanted to use the Essie I just bought. It is Naughty Nautical... It is a gorgeous teal shade with a little hidden silver glass flecks... I used two coats of Naughty Nautical and then I wanted to stamp my new chevron with China Glaze Passion... And like all these were not enough, I used a coat of Zoya Maria Luisa on top...

Well, I have to admit, teal and gold really match, but I "think" this mani is a little crowded... I have to use Naughty Nautical again, but this time on its own... :)

What do you think? It is a go go or a no no ???

The New 31 Day Challenge - Day 30 - My Favorite Nail Art Technique

My favorite nail art technique???

Of course stamping!!!

But first, let me introduce you to my newest polishes....

I ordered them form a local web shop called Evoria... The package arrived like this...

In it there was a box...

In the box, there were my babies, wrapped in pink paper...

And here they are... Color Club Halo Hues!!!

These are the missing ones... Angel Kiss, Blue Heaven and Halo-graphic... I know, I know, these are old news, new 2013 holos are released, but please, I just got them... And it is impossible to keep up with the polish companies... :)

Here are all my Halo Hues... The old ones have a black cap... I wonder why...

Anyway, back to the challenge, I have two coats of Halo-graphic on my nails. And I stamped them with Konad Special Black and Cheeky Jumbo D...

There is a tutorial for making water spotted nails. I loved it sooo much and tried to make it. I tried hand sanitiser, alcohol, perfume, cologne... But I failed every single time. Then I remembered. I had the Cheeky Jumbo D and it had a pattern just like the one I wanted... :)

Sooooo, why bother... :) See, that's why I love stamping! You have endless possibilities!!!!

Enjoy the holo bomb!!!

The New 31 Day Challenge - Day 26 - Inspired by my country

I live in Turkey and I'm proud to be Turkish. I believe our flag is one of the most beautiful and meaningful flags around the world. So for today, I chose to paint my nails to the colors of the Turkish Flag...

The flag of Turkey is a red flag with a white crescent moon and a star in its centre.

The current design of the Turkish flag is directly derived from the late Ottoman flag, which had acquired its final form in 1844.

Its measures have passed by a law during the Republic period on May 29, 1936 which formed the shapes and measures of the current flag of the Republic of Turkey.

Ottomans used several different designs, most of them featuring one or more crescents.

There's a saying that after the Battle of Kosovo -1389, Sultan Murad visited the battle field, and all he saw was a field all in red because of the blood of the dead soldiers. Some say the Sultan Murad was in tears with the scene right before his eyes, and the reflection of the moon and the star in the bloody field inspired the idea for the flag of the victorious Ottoman Empire.

I used Essence Snow White for the base and then stamped with Sally Hansen XtremeWear in White On. The plates I used are MASH 32 and Cheeky CH04.

The New 31 Day Challenge - Day 12 - Tape Mani

I've seen many talentet blogger friends make awsome nail art with tape, but today, I keep it simple. Not because I can't achieve a tape mani, but because I lack creativity... Yep, sometimes that little fairy just passes me by... :)

Anyway, for today's mani I used Eccence Wanna Say Hello, a gorgeous brown. I loved it so much that it can be the brown I've been looking for for sooooo long... For the accent nail, I used Rimmel Gold save the Queen from the Metal Rush collection. I had hoped this collection was pigmented enough to use for stamping, but to my surprise, it came out pretty sheer. I have 2 coats of it and still you can see some bald spots...

Anyway, I then taped my fingers diagonally and stamped them with Barry M Gold Foil, one of the greatest stamping polishes I own... :) I used the design from Cheeky Summer Set CH44... I used the exact opposite for the accent nail...

And this is my tape mani...

Cheeky Jumbo Plates

I recently ordered Cheeky Jumbo Plates A and B from Amazon.com, when I heard that they were on a huge sale. They arrived yesterday, even before the estimated delivery date... Wow, thank you Cheeky... (You should note that I live in Turkey)

As a person who owns the Vibrant and Summer Collection sets from Cheeky, I must say that the plate quality is the same. Detailed images and so far I've not seen a defective plate. I only had one plate from the Vibrant Collection that had a dent on it, but it did not effect the stamping, so we're good.

These Jumbo Plates come with a blue protective film and pink plastic backing, which I think is way too cute... :)

The images are highly detailed. They are big in size, so they could easily fit big nailbeds or long nails, 2cm long and 1.5cm wide, to be exact, just like the Summer Collection.

Sorry for the poor clean-up... :)

Anyway, here's the first image I used from the B plate. You'll be seeing a lot more Cheeky in my manis, because I ordered C and D plates, too... :)

2 Coats of HITS MariMoon Daring over 1 coat of Golden Rose Black, stamped with Cheeky Jumbo Plates B using Essie Good as Gold.

Sunday Stamping...

This weeks theme for Sunday Stamping in my Facebook stamping group was "Leafy".

Well, I am not creative enough this week, so I went with the simplest thing and first painted my nails with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls... On my accent nail, I used Flormar 435 from Summer Collection. I used the same polish for stamping, too. And the new Cheeky plates, of course... :)

Cheeky Summer Collection Plates & Rimmel

My Cheeky plates finally arrived... It took exactly 19 days... 19 days of lonnnggg wait.... :)

Well, first impression, they arrive in a stylish box, like you've never seen before...

The box is good for storing the plates also. But I find it easier to scroll through a binder, so after some time, I guess I'll transfer these to the binder, too.

The plates are covered with blue plastic (which is a classic), and have fancy backings, so you don't accidently cut yourself... The blue film is somehow easier to take off, compared to BM plates, which cost me my two thumbs... :(

I quickly went through all the plates and found nothing visible, damage, scratches etc... But you never know, so I'll be trying each plate to see if they all work fine... The overall quality satisfied me as a customer. The full nail images are bigger than any plate I own. So, finally I have plates to cover my thumbs... :)

I'll review the plates as I use them but here's a quick mani I did.

First of all, my daughter insisted on buying these polishes, because they were scented. However, I get to try them first. This is our rule of buying polish... :) Anyway, the pink one is strawberry scented, the orange one is apricot scented and the yellow one is lemon scented. The pink and the orange are bright, vivid colors. The lemon is a pastel shade... The scent is not strong, but nice. And does not go away after 2 hand washes... We'll see how long they'll last..

The formula of the pink and the orange is good, opaque in two coats with normal drying time. However, the yellow gave me a hard time! It was the streakiest polish ever!!! (if that's a word) Three coats finally made it smooth... :( But with really careful application.

Anyway, since I liked the pink and the orange, I decided to wear them... Andddd along came the Cheeky plates... So, I stamped my accent nail with the cute sunglasses from the Cheeky collection and used my Konad plate for the polka dots...

Don't they look cute?

By the way, the reason for the crappy pictures is; I was playing with my camera and forgot to change the size settings, so this is the lowest quality pictures my camera can take... :)

50 Shades of Grey Mani

I've heard about 50 Shades triology from fellow bloggers. I was really curious, so I thought I should give it a try... Wow, that book is a sure pageturner... I loved it! Eventhough I questioned it sometimes, I must admit, it was one hell of a book...

So, this mani is inspired from 50 Shades of Grey... :)

I used Essence Galactic Black, Flormar Supermatte M157, Rimmel Man Overboard and Rimmel Grey Matter respectively... On my thumb, I had China Glaze Liquid Leather, but you cannot see it in the pictures. Because, my thumb is always the first one to peel and break, so it never catches up its friends lenght-wise so I hide the naughty little fella from the universe... That's it. Enough said... :)

By the way, this is my first ombre mani, and I really liked it. I loved how the colors shifted from dark to light. And I'm thinking of making an ombre gradient... Any time soon... :)

Well, after using 2 coats of each color, I didn't stop and went through my stamping plate folder to see if I had any images that represented the novel... :)

I found the champagne Ana and Christian drank on Cheeky CH9...
I found the zipper of Ana's dress on BM202... (Believe me, there were many zippers undone in the book, this is just one of them... )
I had to use the BM311 plate for the Love and the book page image...
And finally I used the little hearts from Cheeky CH9...

By the way, I stamped with Konad Special Nail Polish in Silver, which really frustrated me... :(

Wow, looking at the pictures, I think I shouldn't have stamped... The plain ombre version was much better... This looks like 50 shades of fail... Well, that's the moral of the story, anyway... :)

Laters...
