Avon - Sturdust Collection - Silver Crystals

The texture flame may be dying, but this doesn't stop me from buying any more...

Here is Avon, jumping to that wagon, a little late maybe, but who cares...

The texture collection from Avon is called Stardust, which I think is a cute name...

And the particular one I have on my nails is Silver Crystals.

Well, to be honest, this polish is not "silver" silver... It looks like more gunmetal and with a hint of pink maybe?

Anyway, it still is pretty and it is a one coater. Well, sometimes one coat is not enough for the texture to show itself so I used two coats to be safe...

Overall, I liked it. Is it better than the many textures I own? Well, nothing special, but if you are looking for a clean texture, you might give this one a try... :)

Avon - Spring Colors 2

I tried a cloud mani for the first time!!!!!!!

I started with Avon Wandering Rose, two coats. It is from the Spring Collection. I really loved all the polishes from the Spring Collection this year. They are so bright and pigmented colors and they complete each other, which you'll see in a little bit... :)

Anyway, I watched many tutroials on YouTube about cloud manis. It looks so easy to do... So I decided to give it a try...

Well, it was easy, really, but somehow, my clouds did not turn out round, but a little square-ish... :D
It may be because of the brush shape or that I am completely unskilful... :(

Btw, I used Impulsive Sky and Cultured Purple for the clouds...

I still like the result anyway. But I'll keep on trying for better results... :)

One final touch... I wanted to add some sparkle so I painted a coat of Catherine Arley silver holo 667. It is a sheer polish, so I thought I could use it as a topcoat.

What do you think? Yay or nay? (for the holo part) :)

Avon - Spring Colors 1

I had bought Avon Spring Colors almost a month ago and had used the green  "Impulsive Sky" for my LLAdoration mani...

Well, here's the rest of the gang...

From left to right, Scenic Grey, ImpulsiveSky, Cultured Purple and Wandering Rose...

This is Scenic Grey, two coats.

And below, I have 2 coats of Cultured Purple with an accent of IsaDora Sugar Crush in Gold Crush...

And below, I stamped lines with Kleancolor Metallic Purple and added golden dots with IsaDora Gold Sparkles.

The pink will be on the next post... :)

Avon Savage and Stamping Decal Trials

My Bundle Monster Create Your Own Set plates (the new 2013 ones) have arrived safely... There are so many beautiful designs in this set that you want to use them over and over again. Congratulations to all the talented ladies who contributed...

You must have seen at least a gazillion of reviews of these plates in the blogesphere, so I will not bore you again with the same images... Instead of that, I'll jump to the first mani I ever did using those gorgeous plates...

Ok, I like skittle manis a lot and this time I tried to make a different one... I used Flormar Passionate Dots Pd03 for my pinkie, a teal texture... For the ring finger, I used 2 coats of OPI My boyfriend scales walls... And for the remaning nails, I used Avon Savage, another gorgeous teal creme...

I left the pinkie as it is and for the ring finger I made my first stamping decal. Actually, after viewing a lot of tutorials on the subject, it wasn't that hard. I used the patch image from BM411, stamped it with black and painted the insides with Avon Savage... The hard part was placing it on my nail. I think Seche has some trouble with my work, so any suggestion is welcome for attaching the decal on my nail... :)

For the middle finger, I used the interlocking dots design from BM412... What a clever image is this... Think about the possibilites!!! Loved it!!! Oh, and I used Essie Good as Gold for stamping...

Well, the index figer was the one I did not like... After 2 coats of  Savage, I used a coat of silver holo topcoat and then stamped on it with Savage again using BM423... Did not turn out how I expected it to be, but still not totally bad, is it?

Ah, and no picture of the thumb but I stamped it with Essie again and the dripping image from BM405, another all time favorite!!!!

So, what do you think?

Two Owls Sitting In A Tree with Avon Untamed

Hi there!!!

The world seems to be infected with owl and mustache-mania, so I couldn't keep myself away from these any longer and I grabbed myself two neckleces...

Yes, one is an owl and the other one is a mustache.... :P

Today, in honour of the Owl Necklace, I did an cute owl mani...

You know the rhyme, x and x sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g... LOL Here is Owl #1 and Owl #2 sitting in a tree ....

Let me tell you, it is extremely difficult to photograph my thumb!!! I tried vaious hand positions but could not take a proper photo!!! So, see, there was a reason my thumb was left out from the pictures... :)

Details of the mani... I know you are wayyyy to curious to learn my mani secret... LOL

I used 2 coats of Avon Untamed, a mushroom color. They say it looks like Barry M Mushroom but I don't own it so I cannot compare.. It is easy to work with, formula wise... And if you ask me, I would say this is a Nescafe with milk color... LOL

Anyway, I paired it with Golden Rose 73, a rich dark brown for my accent nail... And then I started stamping. I uesd the cute owl from Pueen 40 for my accent nail. I used Barry M Gold Foil for stamping by the way and it is sooooooo perfect for stamping!!!! :)

For my thumb, I used the tree from Winstonia W102 with the Golden Rose, but I wish I had used a darker color. It looks like it is washed away... I then used the small owl from Winstonia W115 and stamped them on the tree. And topped them all with Seche...

What do you think? Cute enough???

Avon - Fiery Sky

I am an Avon representative. I always buy new Avon polishes to try, because I like Avon's polish and colors... And I like its formula...

Well, most of them... I bought two new colors from the Cosmic line... Fiery Sky and Cosmic Trip...

The thing is, these are jelly based glitters... Or glitter flecks... That are not supposed to be worn alone!!!! :( Too bad they did not state that in the catalogue...

Anyway, I have Fiery Sky today... In the bottle it looks like a rusty red polish.

Here, you see 3 coats of it...

I don't know about you, but I don't want a polish that is still sheer after 3 coats. And you may suggest to layer it over a solid color but I don't think I'll do it, because I simply did not like it... :(

Avon Speed Dry - Suddenly Sunny

Recently, I bought myself a few of the Avon Speed Dry polishes. These series are said to dry in 30 seconds. Well, I tried and they last a little longer then 30 seconds to dry, but hey, who's counting... :)

Anyway, those following me for a while should already know that I'm not a fan of yellow polish. But when I saw the new pretty colors from Avon, I bought this yellow, because sometimes you need yellow, right?

Well, there is a reason why I hate yellow polish. All the yellow polishes I've tried so far are streaky... Not only the first coat, but also the second coat. Streaky! And no matter how hard I try, they always end up uneven. And this polish was not different. I don't know if it is the pigmentation or the formula... Grrr...

I stamped with Konad Special Black and the BM304 plate... At least this smileys cheered up my horrible yellow mani... :(

Dupe Alert - Avon & Sally Hansen

While I was organising my polish drawer the other day, I found two colors that looked alike. I tried them on and voila! They are dupes!!!

Let me introduce you to Avon Plum Seduction and Sally Hansen Plum Luck... :) Both 2 coats and without a top coat.

The New 31 Day Challenge - Day 9 - Saran Wrap

Heyyy, saran wrap day!!!!

For today, I used Flormar DC07 from the DuoChrome Collection. It is an awsome blue with lovely blue shimmer... I don't call this one a duochrome but is is pretty...

Anyway, when the base got dry, I put on a coat of Avon Golden Vision and imeediately used my saran wrap ball on wet polish. This is the effect I got...

Well, maybe I should have stopped at that, but I added some rhinestones I won from DMBS Kozmetik giveaway... Well, what do you think?

The New 31 Day Challenge - Day 4 - Pink

For day 4 of the challenge, which is Pink, I got inspired by this mani from Oooh, Shinies. It did not turn out as perfect as hers, but that will do... :)

I used Avon Pink Creme, Rimmel Strawberry Fizz and Essence 4 Wheel Drive from the Miami Roller Girl Collection.

I taped after each coat, but the lines were not neat enough, so I took my Golden Rose liner in Silver and went over the lines...

At the end, my daughter was drooling over my nails... :) They look like huge candies... :)
