Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

You should know that Halloween is not celebrated officially in Turkey, but we still have parties for adults in night clubs and costume parties for kids in kindergarten. But no "Trick or Treat"ing... :(

Anyway, while my daughter was in Kindergarten, we celebrated Halloween 4 years in a row. I sew costumes for her, mostly princess stuff, and she went "Trick or Treat"ing in the Kindergarten, visiting the Principal's office and the other classes. Sad thing though, since she is in grade 2 this year, they don't have a special celebration, and this makes her really sad. I'm gonna make her a nice mani and give her some candy to ease her pain... LOL

Anyway, after I saw the swatches of OPI's new Halloween Collection in Fashion Polish's blog, I couldn't help but wonder, since I have no chance of getting that set, how could I find a substitute?

At that point, Essence came to rescue. I knew that this collection was dated mid-summer, it hit the Turkish shelves a week ago. I bought all the polishes... :) And surprisingly, those colors looked really similar to OPI's... Hmmm, what a coincidence....

So I started my Halloween Manicure...

I started with painting my base colors, just like Fashion Polish did... Essence Black is Back on the index finger, Four Wheel Drive on the middle finger, Miami Heat on the ring finger and Bienvenido a Miami on the pinkie... :)

So far, so good... The formula is really nice on these polishes. They are almost one coaters, except for the yellow. But I did two coats for all, anyway.

Then I went through my plates and decided to use Bundle Monster BM301 and BM305 with Konad Special Black. And finished it all with a coat of Seche.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm sure OPI's collection is great also, but I believe that this is the next best thing.

What do you think?

Have a creepy Halloween!!!
