Essie - Petal Pushers

Hi everyone!

The weather is getting warmer but we still have some chilly days. They say that this summer, it is going to be really hot. So, I'm fine with some chill. :) But still, I don't feel like wearing bright summer colors yet. Talk about mood change... LOL

Today I'll be showing you a polish I got from NYC. It is Essie Petal Pushers and it is a lovely gray and I fell for it the moment I saw it. And I thought it was from the new collection. Silly me! Why did I think of that? Because it was right in the "this season's colors" section! Apperantly, it was from Spring 2015 collection. :P Anyway, it is still a great color and I'm glad I bought it...

Let me talk about the formula a little. Well, it is highly pigmented, almost a one coater if you apply carefully. It has a thick consistency, but it is somehow manageable. The brush seemed a little on the thin side, I don't know why, but I applied it easily.

As for stamping, I used Born Pretty Store BP L 004 plate with Color Club Harp on it. The holo shine is subtle, yet totally shiny under sun.

Anyway, that's all for today.

Take care...

Essie - Lots of lux

The pictures came out a little dark but still, I loved this polish.

This is Essie Lots of Lux from the 2013 Encrusted Treasures collection. It is a deep blue with gold / silver shimmer and it is a textured polish!! Yay...

I have two coats here, and application was a breeze. Although sometimes I wish I could use a speed drying topcoat over textures. The drying time makes me mad most of the time. :D

Essie Fiji with Cheeky Happy Nails Jumbo Plate

The summer is finally here and I'm wondering if I should start taking outdoor pictures...

Honestly, I prefer my light box but sometimes the sunlight from my window is highly tempting. Especially when I'm wearing holos... LOL

Anyway, today I wanted something simple so I wore two coats of Essie Fiji, an off white pink creme. I have two coats. The mark you're seeing on my middle finger is because of the patch. I should have buffed it a little more I guess.

I used Cheeky happy nails jumbo plate for the flowery design with Flormar Jellylook pink...

Welcome Spring - Week 3

Hi!

I am late to post my Spring mani for week 3, I know... Nowadays I just can't find time to finish my daily chores... I blame spring for this... I feel teribbly tired and I'm having a hard time getting up. More time in bed means less time for manis and blogging... I just wish days were longer... :D

Anyway, for week 3, I decided giving freehand roses another try. Do you follow Paulina's Passions? She does incredibly beautiful freehand rose manicures and I really love them. I tried to make some roses according to her tutorial and I really liked the outcome... :D

I started with 2 coats of Essie First Timer.

Then I stamped some lines using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The stamp is Gals GA21. As you can see, my nails are at their longest these days (thank God). So the Gals images hardly fit on the tips... Well, since I was going to cover them, I did not care... :D

And here comes the challenge!

I grabbed my daughters dear acrylic paints and started making my roses. I used dotting tools. I know they are not perfect, but from a distance, they look like roses... LOL

And here is an awkward hand pose to show my thumb... Honestly, I loved how the thumb turned out.

Essie - Twin Sweater Set

I have mentioned before that I don't have many red polish. That was because I did not like the look of red on my skin. Well, untill now... I still don't like bright flag reds, but this one stole my heart....

This is Essie Twin Sweater Set... It is a crimson red... Lovely... Two coats... And the formula is a joy to work with. Really pigmented and I tried, it stamps... (check the ring finger) :)

For the ring finger, I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, the official polish for bloggers... LOL And stamped the herats from Pueen 41 with Essie... :)

Who says you can't wear hearts after the 14th of February... :)

ESSIE Vested Interest

Essie Vested Interest was a gift from my lovely friend Camilla, from Bookpolish.

It is a lovely color, but hard for me to describe. You know, I have problems with describing colors and this baby here does not help me a bit... :)

I'll just say it it is somewwhere between a grey and a green... LOL I like to think of it as a grey, because I like grey nowadays... Any physcological explanation for this? Go ahead..... :)

Anyway I have 2 coats here, easy application...

On top of it, I sponged some glitter, NOPI Selena Gomez Confetti Fun, which is a multi colored/shaped glitter that can be worn with many polish... :)

Oh, and sponging glitters is a new thechnique I've learned. The sponge gets most of the celar base, so you are left with glitters and  you can place your glitters whereever you want without the gloppy layers of frusturating base... :)

What do you think?

Essie - Cashmere Bathrobe

I don't own many Essies... Maybe that's because they have mostly cremes. They are pricy here in Turkey and if I pay that price for a polish, I expect it to have some suternatural powers... :D I mean, there are really good regular cremes among Turkish brands, so why pay more, right?

Anyway, when I saw the promotional pictures from Essie's fall collection, only two cought my eye. One was Vested Interest and the other was Cashmere Bathrobe... Well, after seeing the swatches, I changed my mind about Vested interest but I got the other one... :)

Here is Cashmere Bathrobe, a dark grey with silver shimmer... This is two coats. Application was easy and it is a pigmented polish...

And here's what I combined it with...

Thumb, index and middle fingers have Flormar WL07, pure red, one coat... Over that, Golden Rose Jolly Jewels 121, red glitter... I haped half of the nails with scotch tape and stamped the other half with Vivid Lacquer VL10 with Konad Black. And added some dots with China Glaze Angel Wings...

Ring finger is China Glaze Angel Wings only, 3 coats... And finally the pinkie is Essie Cahmere Bathrobe... :)

What do you think????
Do you have any Essie Fall Collection polishes?

Pink skittle

Today I have a pink mani for you... I have bought these two polishes in summer, Rimmel Salon Pro Isn't she precious and New Romantic. Isn't she precious is a sugar pink, has a pigmented color so I used one coat of ISP and one coat of New Romantic as my base, as NR is a lot sheerer and shimmery...

For the pinkie, 2 coats of Zoya Tomoko was gorgeous enough!
For the ring finger, I glued the square golden studs from BornPretty Store.
For the middle finger, I stamped the "live, laugh, love" design from BM405 with Essie Good as Gold.
For the index finger, I used BM317...

Avon Savage and Stamping Decal Trials

My Bundle Monster Create Your Own Set plates (the new 2013 ones) have arrived safely... There are so many beautiful designs in this set that you want to use them over and over again. Congratulations to all the talented ladies who contributed...

You must have seen at least a gazillion of reviews of these plates in the blogesphere, so I will not bore you again with the same images... Instead of that, I'll jump to the first mani I ever did using those gorgeous plates...

Ok, I like skittle manis a lot and this time I tried to make a different one... I used Flormar Passionate Dots Pd03 for my pinkie, a teal texture... For the ring finger, I used 2 coats of OPI My boyfriend scales walls... And for the remaning nails, I used Avon Savage, another gorgeous teal creme...

I left the pinkie as it is and for the ring finger I made my first stamping decal. Actually, after viewing a lot of tutorials on the subject, it wasn't that hard. I used the patch image from BM411, stamped it with black and painted the insides with Avon Savage... The hard part was placing it on my nail. I think Seche has some trouble with my work, so any suggestion is welcome for attaching the decal on my nail... :)

For the middle finger, I used the interlocking dots design from BM412... What a clever image is this... Think about the possibilites!!! Loved it!!! Oh, and I used Essie Good as Gold for stamping...

Well, the index figer was the one I did not like... After 2 coats of  Savage, I used a coat of silver holo topcoat and then stamped on it with Savage again using BM423... Did not turn out how I expected it to be, but still not totally bad, is it?

Ah, and no picture of the thumb but I stamped it with Essie again and the dripping image from BM405, another all time favorite!!!!

So, what do you think?

Essie Naughty Nautical and Zoya Maria Luisa

I have always loved chevron manis. And I have secretly wished I was able to freehand or do tape chevrons... Well, freehand is off the discussion and tape chevrons will be another day's story...

Anyway, one day, my dear friend Michele sent me the Cheeky Happy Nails stamping plate along with some fall Zoya Pixie Dusts... And suddenly, I wanted to make a chevron mani...

:)

:)

Big surprise huh? LOL

Here is the plate that made me realise my dreams...

I can hear you asking, both Pueen and Bundle Monster has chevron designs. Why didn't you use them? I am totally aware of that. But I was admiring the thick, fat chevrons, not the skinny ones... So, you finally get my problem??? :P

Lons story short, today, just before leaving the house, I wanted to use the Essie I just bought. It is Naughty Nautical... It is a gorgeous teal shade with a little hidden silver glass flecks... I used two coats of Naughty Nautical and then I wanted to stamp my new chevron with China Glaze Passion... And like all these were not enough, I used a coat of Zoya Maria Luisa on top...

Well, I have to admit, teal and gold really match, but I "think" this mani is a little crowded... I have to use Naughty Nautical again, but this time on its own... :)

What do you think? It is a go go or a no no ???

Essence Snow White Collection - 07 Bashful

I am happy to report that I have found the perfect stamping gold polish.

Enter Essie Good as Gold!

Literally, it is good as gold. It is the best stamping gold I've ever seen. HOWEVER; it is hard to find in Turkey... Sigh... So this means, I should use it bit by bit, little by little, only on accent nails.... LOL...

Anyway, onto todays mani...

I have bought the Essence Snow White Collection long ago but still they remain on my untrieds list. So I thought today might be a good day to use one. I picked #7 Bashful... It is a "christmas tree" green with tiny gold shimmer. Lovely color. :)

And for stamping, I used Essie Good as Gold with my Bundle Monster BM223 plate... :)
