Guestblogger - Briana from For The Love Of Lacquer...

Hi all!

Today we have a guest blogger from "down there" :) She's Briana from For the Love of Lacquer, an Aussie blogger friend of mine!!!

She has a lovely blog and she's such a fun lady!!! :)

Let's see what she prerared for you today!!!

Hi guys,

When Aylin said she was looking for a couple of guest bloggers to help her out while she was away soaking up the sun, how could I say no? She is such a beautiful person ofcourse I'd love to help!

A few days before she put out the call Id just recieved a packet of striping I was itching to play with so I thought Id try a few things out for the blog post.

First I tried this yellow and black mani and I was really happy with it but I completly forgot to take photos so I wore that a few days and now, armed with my phone camera, Ive tried again.

Im not as happy with this one, it looks great but Ive lost my brushes so clean up has been a bit of a nightmare and it doesnt look as good as I would like but the design is a lot of fun and its quite simple to do, which is alway a bonus.

First start out with plain white nails (this is easier if you dont use an old thick gunky bottle of polish)

Then get out your tape and lay them in a criss cross pattern.

Using a make up sponge put a little pink polish on the sponge then dab onto the nail, trying to get it lighter at the top and darker at the bottom so it creates a gradient effect.

Before the polish dries remove the tape and finish the rest of the nails. I find it easier to work with one nail at a time.

Once all ten nails are done and dry cover with a clear top coat, clean up your mess and enjoy your hard work.

This design was inspired by @ohmygoshpolish on instagram who does such amazing work.
Thanks for reading and lets all be a little jealous of Aylin sunning herself on the beach.

Ha ha, thank you Briana... I know it is winter out there but hey, there's no reason to be jelous... :) We all take our time... :)
I've never tried this technique before but I surely will... Lots of love and kisses...

Pink Girly Mani

I've been in search of a good baby pink for some time. A pink that is easy to apply, without streaks... I've tried various brands and I'm happy to announce that I finally found it!!!!

It is Golden Rose Rich Color 46... It is a lovely baby pink creme. Not a thick creme, though... It is easy to apply and it is opaque in 2 coats, streak free!!!!

Yay!!!

And what does a girl do if she has a baby pink polish? She does a girly mani!!!!!

:)

Anyway, I tried to do a skittlette mani a la ChitChat Nails. Her manis are always an inspiration to me!

I used Golden Rose Rich Color 46 for my pinky, middle and index fingers. And I used Golden Rose Rich Color 35, a gorgeous black for the thumb and the ring finger.

I stamped the polka dots from Konad m79 to my pinky.
I added a pink rhinestone to my ring finger.
I stamped the cute bow from Pueen 10 on my middle finger.
I added two coats of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels 104 to my index finger.
And I left my thumb just black!!!!

I loooooovvveeed this girly mani!!!! I should do these kinds of things more often... LOL

Quick Post with Alix Avien Golden Nails

I recently bought myself Alix Avien's 24K Gold Nails set. The set consists of two 5ml polishes, one black and one gold leaf topcoat.

I already owned Zoya Gilty, but did not use it, because you know, I might finish it and never get a spare bottle... Sigh, this thought only is killing me... :(

Anyway, I thought I should give this little guy a try... But instead of a black base, I used a turquoise, Maybelline Urban Turquoise, a lovely shade, in my opinion....

This maybelline is a one coater, totally opaque in one coat! But I'm afraid it is going to be stainer.... :(

After painting all my nails one coat of Urban Turquoise, I painted a thick coat of Depend Holographic Ocean Green on my pinkie...

Then I picked my golden leaf top coat and started painting my ring finger...

First impression, the formula is very watery. You cannot get enough leaf on the brush. So you start dabbing and placing the gold leaves... At this point, O was glad that the formula was watery, because as it dried, it did not streak...

You see two coats of gold leaves dabbed on my ring finger...

Well, it may not be the perfect polish, but it still looks nice and it is all you can get for 13TL...

Kiko 339 & 336

I guess I was the only one in the universe that hasn't used the paisley design from Bundle Monster 315 plate...

So, I had to accomplish this mission... With my brand new Kikos, of course!!!!

I used Kiko 339 as a base and Kiko 336 for my accent nail. Both polishes were 2 coats. First coat was a little streaky but second coat applied like butter. I especially loved 336, the dark blue one... What a color!!! I also stamps very nicely. I stamped with it on the remaining nails... Oh, and I placed a rhinestone from my BornPrettyStore palette on the accent nail.

So, mission accmplished! I have paisley nails... LOL :)
