The Tri-Polish Challenge - March - Day 1

One thing for sure, Crumpet's Nail Tarts surely know how to make a challenge!!!

Starting this month, Debbie from The Crumpet and Ashley from Smashley Sparkles have started a new challenge that lasts only 4 days, each month...

THE TRI-POLISH CHALLENGE!!!

Well, the name itself causes some excitement!!!

Wanna learn what it is all about?

Here are the rules taken from The Crumpet;

The Tri Polish Challenge is a way to have creative fun with the polishes you already own, with no set themes.

* each month Crumpet's Nail Tarts will set 3 colours for the challenge. You then choose 1 polish to represent each of those 3 colours. You must stick to those same 3 polishes throughout the entire challenge.

* example - if the colours are red, blue and green, you might pick Zoya Dakota, Models Own Beth's Blue and China Glaze Starboard. You must stick to those polishes and cannot change which polish represents which colour.

* each Challenge Day, you must use at least 2 of these 3 polishes in your mani. You must also use all 3 polishes at least once.

* you also have free use of white, black, silver, gold and glitter toppers

* there is no theme - what you do is up to you - let the colours inspire you!

* there are 4 posts in the challenge, on the Tuesday and Thursday of the 3rd and 4th week of the month

So, the colors for March are coral, green and purple... Wow, what a combination... Honestly, I never have thought of wearing them together... :)

Anyway, here are my picks for this month... And remember, once you pick your colors, you are not supposed to change them!!!

They are PASTEL 309, 56 and 100...

You have to use the 3 colors together al least once, so today I decided to do it...

I painted my nails with 2 coats of Pastel 309. Then with a dotting tool, I made some dots on the tips using 56 and 100... I really loved how these colors turned out together... :)

Oh, and in case you're wondering, the brown thing on my index finger is Turkish Coffee. I was just making myself Turkish Coffee before taking the pictures and I somehow dipped my fingers in it. I washed my hands but apperantly, these sticky coffee particles wanted to make a show on my blog... LOL

Check out what other ladies did with these colors!!!

Flormar Nail Stickers - A Review

It's been a while since I saw the Flormar Nail Art Stickers in Flormar Store but I always prefer polish over stickers so I never bought one. Anyway, for New Year's a friend of mine bought them as a gift and I had the chance to try them on... By the way, the pictures were taken a while ago, so you are looking at my undamaged beautiful long nails... :( Sigh...

First things first, they look awsome in the package... :) Soooo shiny and glittery... And being a rusher, I remembered to take the picture of the package AFTER I wore the first set... LOL!!!

Don't be mistaken, these are not polish strips, they are stickers. And they have only 10 stickers in a package, so you have to be really careful not to waste any...

Since they are not polish strips, you don't have the strech option, so if you have huuuge nails like me, the stickers are not going to fit your nails. (not lenght-wise but width-wise)

The glue on the sticker is not that strong. I tried not to touch the glued part but still they did not stick to my nails as I expected.

My nails were not that long, so I had to file the tips a little. It was easy to do, but as you can see in the pictures, I couldn't get rid of the small pieces completely...

Here's the wort part, I had to fill my thumb with black polish because the sticker did not fit my enormous thumb! Really, are these made for children?

See the gaps? This is the middle finger...

 And the index finger...

And the huge thumb! :(

Anyway, they look awsomely gorgeous! The shine and the glitter is unbelivable but because of the size, I'll never buy them again.... :(

NYC - Mint Macaroon

Quick post!!!

While visiting my local cosmetic shop, I saw a surprise! NYC polishes are in Turkey! Well, maybe not all the collection but I found a lot of lovely colors... And the pricing is reasonable, so I grabbed a few...

This one is two coats of NYC Mint Macaroon with an accent of China Glaze Angel Wings. I love the combination of mint green and gold. I plan to use this combination more in the future... :)

My Latest Essence Haul

Ever since Essence came to Turkey, and that was just last year, I started updating my make-up drawer with their products. They are relatively cheap, infact cheaper than most Turkish brands and they are made of good quality products.

I have a sensitive skin, so I cannot use "any" product, but so far, Essence has not caused any problems with my skin...

Anyway, for a few weeks, the Essence display was nearly empty in my local cosmetic shop. For a moment, I thought that they were leaving the Turkish Market. But the other day, I saw the shelves were full again, so I decided to celebrate that with a little shopping!!!

Wanna see what I got?

Night Club Glamour to Go eyeshadow sets. I bought both, because they looked stunning!!!

Nail polish cleaner pen. Well, I usually use an eyeliner brush but hey, why not give this a try?

New Colour&Go polishes... From left to right; Prom-berry, Miss Universe, That's what I Mint, 24/7 Nail Base and Caring Cuticle Oil.

The new 3D eyeshadows! I loved the colors!!! From up to down; 08 Irresistable Vanilla Latte, 07 Irresistable Smokey Eye and 09 Irresistable Choclates!!!

Black kajal that stays put for long hours... Well, we'll see about that one... :)

And last but not least; the perfect mascara of all times!!!

So, I cannot wait to try them all... What do you think?

RETO 2013 - Week 6 - Inspired by a fruit

Today is a sunny day in Istanbul... Spring is coming! And what a lovely day to celebrate with my new holos!!!

I recently ordered some holos from Catherine Arley. These were new colors I guess. Well, at least they are new to me.... So, with today being the 6th week of the RETO Challenge, aka the Fruit Week, I decided to play with my new toys...

I used 2 coats of Catherine Arley 801, a chartreuse gold for my nails and 803, lime green for the index nail. Then I sponged the 803 on the tips of other nails to make a gradient.

BTW, 803 is gorgeous on its own, I should wear it alone soon! And 801 is not my color, but it will be useful for gradients like these...

Anyhoo, I stamped the cutest pear image from the GALS 41 with Konad Special Black and left the accent nail alone... LOL!!!

So, what do you say?
